Dr. Aslı Balçak Girgin Personal Expert

Dr. Aslı BALÇAK GİRGİN is a researcher, educator, and practitioner who has gained experience in key roles within Turkey’s R&D-driven innovative transformation of the textile and technical textile sectors. Through her experience in these roles—including university-industry collaboration, an interdisciplinary work culture, and a network that has grown over time—she has developed strong ties with the sector. In her doctoral thesis completed at Bursa Uludağ University, she analyzed the R&D and innovation systems and infrastructure of the Turkish textile sector and proposed a model using measurable indicators; in her master’s thesis, she demonstrated the effects of R&D-based innovation on added value. She has presented papers at national and international symposia and authored scientific publications in fields such as R&D, innovation, sustainability, technical textiles, digital textile technologies, and polymer technologies. With the field experience he gained in R&D, sustainability, and quality systems, he has served as a senior researcher and researcher at R&D centers and has also conducted educational activities. He currently serves as a consultant, reviewer, and project leader in R&D and sustainability projects.
