Bahattin YALÇIN was born in Istanbul in 1967 and graduated from the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Engineering, Istanbul University, in 1991. In 1991, he worked briefly at İlsan-İltaş Pharmaceutical Industries. In 1991, he began working as a research assistant in the Department of Chemistry at Marmara University. He received his master’s and doctoral degrees from Marmara University in 1995 and 1999, respectively.In 2009, he served as a Board Member at the Center for Applied Research on Natural Plants and Aquatic Products, and in 2010, at the Center for Applied Research on Environmental Issues. He served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Marmara University from 2005 to 2010, as an Associate Professor from 2010 to 2015, and has continued in his role as a Professor and Head of the Inorganic Chemistry Division since 2015.He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Chemical Society from 2010 to 2012 and as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors from 2012 to 2014. He has been serving as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Chemical Society since October 2016. He is married and the father of two children.
